the Curriculum

We provide a program that reflects the developmental level of each child through individual, small group and large group activities. Our curriculum is based on active learning and hands-on experiences. We blend play-based learning with academic experiences to prepare children for the next level in their education.

 

Our program provides a curriculum rich in Language Arts skills and Math concepts. Children are invited to explore the world around them as we study various Science and Social Studies themes. Children are also encouraged to express themselves creatively and our day has many opportunities for Art and Music activities. Incorporated throughout the day are opportunities for the children to develop both their fine and large motor skills.

A child’s social and emotional skills are a very important part of the foundation needed for learning and growth.  We work with all of the children to develop and grow these skills throughout their years at Building Blocks. Through stable routines, a Christian example, and gentle, consistent guidance, the children learn focus and self-control, perspective taking, effective communication, and confidence to take on challenges.  The loving, Christian care creates an atmosphere that also fosters helpfulness, generosity and caring.
